Jointly-Badged Coursework Program
A type of shared program. A jointly-badged degree leads to a single joint award which is recognised and accredited by the participating institutions as a single degree award conferred jointly by the universities.

Late Change
A change to a subject or course requiring amendment of information that has been:
• reported by the University to the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations DEEWR). Depending on the timing and nature of these changes they may require approval from DEEWR and/or Ministerial approval before they can be implemented; and/or
• published in the University Handbook for the current or forthcoming year.

Later-Year Student
A student who has completed one year of tertiary study.

Leave of Absence (also known as Leave or LOA)
A formally approved period of time, with specific start and end dates, when a student who has commenced a degree is permitted not to be enrolled in any subjects within that degree.

Level
Sequenced divisions of a course, normally equated with years and further defined by the number of points accrued (e.g. 100 level = first year = first 100 points in a degree).

Longer Assignment
A substantial piece of assessment, completed outside class time, by a pre-determined due date. This includes but is not limited to essays, dissertations, research projects, take-home examinations, portfolios, reports, or other longer written projects, design or programming tasks. In general, an individual task worth more than 25% of the subject points, and/or of more than 1000 words is considered a 'longer assignment'. See also Shorter Assignment.
